Mayor Rickard and Members of Council: -
The following recommendations to Council were made at a meeting of the Community
Services Committee held in the Committee Room of the Bowmanville Town Hall on
Monday, October 7, 1974, at 1:00 p.m.:
1. Schedule of Hours for Animal Control Officers
Shift ##1 Shift #2
Monday 7 a.m. to 3.30 p.m. 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Tuesday 7 a.m. to 3.30 p.m. 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Wednesday 7 a.m. to 3..30.p.m. 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Thursday 7 a.m. to 3.30 p.m. 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Friday 7 a.m. to 3.30 p.m. 7 a.m. to 12 noon
Saturday Off 8 a.m. to 12 noon
Sunday Off 1 hr. to feed dogs.
This schedule would be worked for two weeks by each Officer. 11 hour would be taken
for lunch. The Officer taking the second shift would be on 24 hour call.
2. Report of Recreation Department - Mr. Fannin
(a). That Mr. Fanning contact the Director of Public Works that if there is a
bulldozer in the area of the Village of Newcastle, it might be possible to
level the area of the Park site in the Westview Heights Subdivision.
(b) That two posts and a chain be put across the entrance to the ball park in
the Village of Newcastle.
(c) That the proposed Park next to the Waverly Public School be graded and seeded.
(d) That the equipment in the Orono Park Booth be natpurchased.
(e) That $350. in the 1974 Arena Budget be transferred from the purchase of a
popcorn machine to a new P. A. System for the Bowmanville Arena.
(f) That a Girls Hockey league be formed and the fee be $10. per player.
(g) That Country and Western Concerts be conducted throughout the Town of Newcastle.
(h) That Council approve the Schedule. of Duties for the Arena Manager
