The following
the Community
Report No. 1.
and Members of Council: -
recommendations to Council were made at the meeting of
Services'Cammittee held on August 19, 1974:
1. Signs in BowmanvillaArena - That the Bowmanville Minor Hockey Association
be permitted to place a sign 8' x 4' in the Bowmanville Arena, showing the
names of their sponsors and a similar sign be erected for Recreation sponsored
teams.
2. Brian Caswell, Dog Pound - That Mr. Brian Caswell be asked to continue
as presently operating a Dog Pound in the former Township of Clarke.
3. Day Care Facilities - Town of Newcastle - That a letter be sent to the
Ministry of Community and Social Services indicating interest in the project
of day care facilities in the Town of Newcastle.
4. Community Centre Boards- That all Community Centre Boards operate on the
same basis, all administer their own funds subject to audit by the Municipality.
5. Recreation Committees - That all Recreation Committees deposit receipts
to the credit of the Town of Newcastle, all accounts be paid by the Town
and the Invoices kept by the Town.
6. Orono Community Memorial Park Board - That the registration of the Orono
Community Memorial Park Board as a Charitable Organization, be cancelled as
recommended by the Treasurer, Mr. J. F. Descent.
7. Winter Capital Projects - That the Clerk apply for Winter Capital Projects
for enlarging the Animal Pound and the Construction of the new Community Hall
in Tyrone.
8. Livestock Poundkeepers - That the following be appointed Livestock
Poundkeepers for the Town of Newcastle:
Ross Brown, Newtonville
Lawrence Harris, Orono
Douglas Cathcart, Kendal
Sid Cornish, R5, Bowmanville
Wilson Carson, R. 1 Newtonville
Morley Robinson, RI Newtonville
Fred Griffin, Blackstock
Vic Cookston, R6, Bowmanville.
