HomeMy WebLinkAbout1974-07-15 ReportReport No. 1 TOWN OF NEWCASTLE Mayor Rickard and Members of Council: - The following is a report to Council from the meeting of the Community Services Committee held on July 15, 1974. 1. That the Building Inspector be asked to draw up a plan for enlarging the Animal Pound and the Chairman and the Clerk be authorized to call for Tenders. 2. That the hours of work for. the Animal Control Officer be 40 hours per week. That he keep a record of the overtime worked and he would be compensated for this. 3. That Mr. Hancock, the Animal Control Officer, be authorized to attend a meeting in Scarboro on September 4, 1974, and that his expenses be paid. 4. That a letter be written to Mr. & Mrs. W. P. Proctor, R. R. 1/ 2, Orono, replying to their letter of July 8, 1974, that no action will be taken at this time, with regard to the purchase of new mats for instruction of Judo in the Orono Town Hall. 5. That the Committee endorse the report of Area Fire Chief Hayman regarding the use of the Public Works Building in Newcastle for a Fire Hall. (Report attached) 6. That the Community Services Committee meat with Chief Hayman and the Fire Chief for Station 2 to initiate a study for the cauatructioR of a new Fire Hall in Area 2. i-ocaT,onr. 7.
