TOWN OF NEWCASTLE
Mayor Rickard and Members of Council:—
The following recommendations to Council were made at the meeting of the Community
Services Committee on April 11 1974:
1. That the Outside runs at the Animal Pound be compartmentalized subject to the
approval of the Veterinary Services Branch.
2. That the Animal Control Officer be given a letter of identification and a price
be obtained on identification. badges.
3. That the Animal Pound be expanded to twice its present capacity and the Committee
be authorized to get estimates on costs and present them to Council.
1�. VOLUNTEER Firemen
That Council approve Chief Hayman s. appointments as Volunteer Firemen:
Mr. Ronald Carter
Mr. David Gorden
Mr. Bruce Goudey
Mr. Johnvle
Mr. Michael Murphy.
Subject to a Medical Fitness Certificate and a 6 months probationary period.
5. Drinking on Municipal Property
That Mr. Fanning send letters to the responsible parties in Baseball and Hockey
that there will be no drinking on Municipal property and that signs to this effect
be posted in the respective dressing rooms.
6. That an overall Recreation Committee for the Town of Newcastle, composed of up
to 10 people, which would be an advisory Committee to the Community Services
Committee, be appointed.
