HomeMy WebLinkAbout1976-11-22 ReportReport No. 2 Mayor Rickard $ Members of Council: The following is a report of a meeting of the Committee of the Whole held in Court Room No. 2, Police and Fire Building, on Monday, November 22nd, 1976 at 11:05 a.m. 1. Marvin Validation of Title V1THAT it be recommended to Council that a by-law be presented to Council to validate the Marvin property title in keeping with the opinion of the Town Solicitor dated November 16th, 1976. 2. Taxi Brokers Licence Vanderende THAT it be recommended to Council that Council concur with the application of Mr. Thomas Vanderende for Taxi Brokers Licence. 3. Limousine Licences THAT it be recommended to Council that Council concur with the attached Sub Committee, @ Report on Limousine Licences and that the Taxi By-law No. 74-72 be amended 0 accordingly. 4. Mr. S. and Ontari fer to Sell for Road Widening - THAT it be recommended to Council that Council accept the Offer to Purchase the land for road widening in accordance with the agreement presented by Mr. Cureatz, and subject to the approval of the Director of Public Works the Mayor and Clerk be authorized to sign same, and also that Block A be accepted by the Town from Ontario Hydro in accordance with the agreement dated 10th of September, 1976. S. Mr. J. Rice re Senior Citizen Apartment Mr. Rice accompanied by his architect appeared before the Committee regarding his proposed building of a Senior Citizens apartment on his property on Wellington Street West of Silver Street, Bowmanville. THAT it be recommended to Council that Council approve of the principle of Senior Citizen accommodations in the area and that the applicant work with the appropriate Town Staff to meet this end. 6. Public Walk Ways Winter Program THAT it be recommended to Council that the tender of Mr. F. Brown, Jr., for cleaning snow from public walkways for the 1976/77 Winter be accepted in the amount of $15.00 per hour. 7. Newcastle Box Factory THAT it be recommended to Council that the Planner be requested to prepare a L,19 Rezoning by-law for the next meeting of Council in connection with his verbal report regarding the zoning problem at the Newcastle Box Factory. / 1 2 Committee of the R'hole Report 8. Repairs to Dog Pound Report No. 2 THAT it be recommended to Council that- Mr. W'arren's tender price in the amount of $2,255 be accented provided that he extends the time from November 5th, 1976 and that the cost be accommodated in this years budget, and that the work be authorized to proceed immediately subject to the unanimous support of Members of Council.
