HomeMy WebLinkAbout1976-04-28 ReportReport No. 4 Mayor Rickard and Members of Council: The following is a report of a meeting of the Committee of the Whole held in the Bownanville Committee Room at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, April 26th, 1976:- 1. Mr. Davis of Ontario Hydro Mr. A. Davis of the Property Acquisition Department of Ontario Hydro appeared before the Committee relative to Hydro's request to have the road allowances closed in the area being acquired by Hydro for the proposed Generating Station. It was recommended to Council that the matter be referred to the Liaison Committee to Report back. 2. Mr. E.R. Lovekin re Coolahan Mr. E.R. Lovekin, Solicitor for Mr. Coolahan, appeared before the Committee with the request that a part of Base Line Road in the former Village of Newcastle be closed and deeded to his client. It was recommended to Council that no action be taken in this regard. 3. Mr. & Mrs. Way re Building Permit Problem Mr. & Mrs. Way of Highway 2 West of Maple Grove appeared before the Committee with regard to difficulty in obtaining a Building Permit to reconstruct their garage. It appears that their home is a legal non -conforming use in an Agricultural Zone. They were advised to seek an appointment with the Secretary of the Committee of Adjustment and Mayor Rickard assisted them to do this. 4. Miklash It was recommended to Council that Mr. McNeely's letter of April 5th, 1976 be received and Mr. McNeely instructed to take action in the Courts and do everything possible to make action successful. 5. Marianna Developments Office Space It was recommended to Council that Mr. Veltri's offer with regard to Office Space in his proposed office building on King Street, Bowmanville be received and no action be taken at this time. 6. Taxi Driver's Licence It was recommended to Council that the Deputy Clerk's Report relative to application for a permanent Taxi Driver's Licence be adopted and a licence be issued to Mr. Steven Stoneburg. 7. By -Law No. 76-18 Refreshment Vehicles It was recommended to Council that By -Law No. 76-18 be recommended for second reading subject to the deletion of Clause 5(a). 2- 8. Administration Study Report 4 It was recommended to Council that the Treasurer of Ontario be requested to instruct T.E.I.G.A.ts Central Ontario Regional Office to perform an Administration Study for the Town. 9. Darlington Generating Station Liaison Committee It was recommended to Council that Mayor Rickard be authorised to appoint two Councillors to the vacant positions on the Liaison Committee. 10. Rules of Procedure It was recommended to Council that Council follow the Rules of Procedure as laid doom in "Roberts Rules of Procedures'y. It was recommended to Council that the former action in this regard be rescinded. 11. Water & Sewer Servicing Costs tf C, /kW,/ j It was recommended to Council that the Town Clerk be requesteA to write to the Regional Clerk with the request that tlye sewer and water s vicing charges, in the case of Senior Citizens or people.with fixed incomes be deferred and the accumulation costs be placed as a lien against the properties to be paid at the time of any future conveyance of the property and that the Regional Clerk be asked to direct the letter to ,whichever Departments he deems appropriate.
