HomeMy WebLinkAbout1976-04-21 ReportReport No. 3 Mayor Rickard and Members of Council: The following is a report of a meeting of the Committee of the Whole held in the Bowmanville Committee Room on Wednesday, April 21, 1976: 1. Official Plan Amendment Procedures It was recommended to Council that the Planner's Report, dated March 29th, 1976 regarding Official Plan Amendment Procedures be received and forwarded to the Region. 2. Citizen Participation Programme re Culex Mosquito It was recommended to Council that an ad regarding Citizen Participation Programme against the Culex Mosquito be placed in the three local papers and 1000 copies of the sheet be ordered from the Durham Regional Health Unit to be displayed on Public Notice Boards and distributed. 3. Cemetery By -Law It was recommended to Council that the Clerk's report regarding the Cemetery By-law be received and the necessary by-law be prepared and recommended to Council for final reading. 4. Barber Shop By -Law It was recommended to Council that the necessary by-law regarding Barber Shops- in the Town of Newcastle be prepared and circulated to all Barbers in the Town prior to being taken to Council. 5. Planning Enquiries It was recommended to Council that the Counc'l concur with the Planner's Report regarding Planning enquiries provided that someone is always available in the Planning Department to answer these enquiries. 6. Robbs Drive Town Houses It was recommended to Council that in view of the fact that the Developer is asking to change the designation of the subdivision Agreement by an amendment to the Durham Official Plan to redesignate Block "B" from Residential to Commercial, the Regional Solicitor and Commissioner of Finance check the site plan agreement prior to Council authorizing the Mayor to sign the agreement. 7. School Board Representatives on Planning, Advisory Committee It was recommended to Council that the School Board Members on the Planning Advisory Committee be granted voting powers. 8. Historical and Architectural Conservation It was recommended to Council that the Planner's report re Historical and Arch- itectural Conservation be referred to the Town of Newcastle Museum Board with copies of the information obtained from the Ministry of Culture and Recreation. Report No. 3 9. It was recommended to Council that Mr. Best be empowered to act to purchase portable partitions for the back office at Hampton, after looking at other possibilities. 10. Desk and Chair It was recommended to Council that the purchase of a desk and chair for the secretary for the Director of Public Works be referred to Mr. Best and the Clerk with power to act. 11. Equipment - Hampton Office It was recommended to Council that Mr. Best and Mr. Dunham procure equipment for the Hampton Office. 12. Newcastle vs. Thompson and Newcastle vs. Ransberry_ It was recommended to Council that, in view of Council's action with respect to By-law 76-8, taken at Council meeting on April 19th, no further action will be necessary on Newcastle vs. D. Thompson injunction and Newcastle vs. Ransberry injunction and Mr. McNeely be so advised. Respectfully submitted D. W. Allin, Chairman
