Mayor Rickard and Members of Council: -
The following is a report of a meeting of the Committee of the Whole held
on Monday, March 22nd, 1976 at 1:00 a,me in the Committee Room of the Bowmanville
Town Hall:
1, Bowmanville Taxire Rate Increase
It was recommended to Council that By -Law No. 74-72 be amended to increase the
rates from the present rate of .10e for every 1/6 of a mile to .10p for every
1/8 of a mile,
2. Game Commission
Lt4 r� It was recommended to Council that the names of the six members of the Game
I ` t Commission be submitted to the Ministry of Natural Resources for appointment
E as Deputy Conservation Officers,
3. Sign By -Law
% It was recommended to Council that the draft by-law for signs be adopted and forwarded
V for Council►s consideration subject to being amended to provide for the proposed
sign for the Flying Dutchman.
4. Reid Brothers re Drivi a Range
It was recommended to Council that Council has concluded that no change can be
t made to the Zoning designation of this land to permit a Driving Range and
Miniature Golf Course %cept by a rezoning by-law processed by an official
application by the owners.
5. Shame Purchase from Wilson
The Town Clerk reported that the appraisal of the property owned by the Town which
Mr. & Mrs. Sharpe had requested to purchase had been appraised at $2,035. This
v refers to Lots 22 and 26, Registered Plan 97, Darlington.
It was recommended to Council that the land be sold to Mr. & Mrs. Sharpe at the
appraised price plus appraisal costs as per Resolution #CW -5-76.
6. Refreshment Vehicle --Law
It was recommended to Council that the by-law as amended be recommended for Councils
consideration.
7. Cemetery By -Law Amendment
�! It was recommended to Council that the changes suggested by the Town Clerk with
pe reference to By -Law No. 76-7 be adopted and the changes recommended to the next
meeting of Council.

8. Port Granby Dump

rll-' It was recommended to Council that the Town Selicitor be requested to seek an
injunction to force Eldorado Nuclear to move their dump from the Port Granby
Site on the grounds that it is a health hazard.
9. Equipment Reserve
It was recommended to Council that a Resolution be presented to set up an Equipment
V/ Reserve in the amount of $44,840.00.
'. 10. Tennis Courts at Bowmanville High School
It was recommended to Council that a Resolution be presented to charge the
amount of $14,004 Lot Levies oIPonnis Courts at Howmanville High School.
11. Area Treasurers Meeting
It was recommended to Council that the Treasurer be authorised to host the
Regional Treasurers meeting in May, 1976.
