HomeMy WebLinkAbout1975-11-24 ReportReport No. 3 Mayor Rickard and Members of Council The following is a report of the Committee of the Whole meeting field in the Bowmanville Town Hall Committee Room on Monday, November 24th, 1975 at 9:00 a.m.:- 1. Darlington Generating Station It was recommended to Council that this Municipality advise Ontario Hydro that the Municipality wishes to give approval of the consulting firm whom they wish to engage and the Terms of Reference under which they will operate. 2. It was recommended to Council that Council continue to pressure the Provincial Government in every possible way for money to permit the Town to have an independent overview on behalf of the people of the Town. 3. Sharpe Purchase from Wilson - Quit Claim Deed It was recommended to Council that the Town have Lots 22 and 26 in Plan 97 in the former Township of Darlington appraised and offered to Mr. Sharpe at the appraised value plus costs„ The status of the road remain as is. 4. Darlington Generating Station re Liaison Committee It was recommended to Co u tl to cons id�px--appoint ing a liaison committee of citizens to deal wi problems c5�Acerning the proposed Darlington Generating Station and t ocial and e.coriomic impact to the community. 5. Appointment to Land Division Committee It was recommended to Council that it be recommended to the Region that Mr. Wm. Allin be reappointed to the Land Division Committee. 6. Taxi Driver's Licences It was recommended to Council that they concur with the approval of the issuance of Taxi Licences to the following: - 1) Richard A. Clarke 2) Joseph P. Popovich which had been approved by the Regional Police. 7. Meeting with School Board and Conservation Authority It was recommended to Council that the Mayor set up a meeting with the Chairman and representatives of the School Board and Conservation Authority to discuss their financial impact. Bruce Generating, Station Page 2 It was recommended to Council that the Clerk contact the Clerk of the Township of Bruce and request that the Council be invited to a meeting of their Council to discuss the impact of the Hydro Generating Station on their community. 9.
