HomeMy WebLinkAbout1975-11-10 ReportU- 7-3 Report No, 2 Mayor Rickard and Members of Council: The following, is a report of a meeting of the Committee of the Whole held in the Bowmanville Town Hall Committee Room on Monday, November 10th, 1975 at 9:00 a.m. 1. Land Severance - Steve Bersei It was recommended to Council that no action be taken on the request of Hyman, Diamond and Fischman regarding conditions of the Land Division Committee on the severance applied for by Mr. Steve Bersei. 2. Orono & Area Chamber of Commerce It was recommended to Council that the Orono and Area Chamber of Commerce be advised that the Chief Building Inspector and By -Law Enforcement Officer have advised that the burned out building, formerly Reid's Hardware, is in a safe condition and that Council can take no further action at this time. 3. Notice of Expropriation re Darlington Generating Station It was recommended to Council that the Notice of Expropriation of Toon owned lands for the proposed Hydro Generating Station be held in abeyance until an offer has been received. 4. Oshawa By -Laws 70-75 and 69-75 It was recommended to Council that Mayor Rickard and the Planner be authorised to attend O.M.B. Bearings regarding City of Oshawa By -Laws 70-75 and 69-75 in support of Council's objections and that Mr. Bowden be asked to prepare the background material. 5. Taxi Drivers Licences It was recommended that Council concur with the following application for Taxi Drivers Licences which had been approved by the Regional Police Department: - Kevin Daniel Homes Wm. J. Smale 6. Leighton & I:idd re Darlington Generating Station It was recommended that Council concur with the Terms of Reference contained in Leighton & Kidd's letter of November 6th, 1975 regarding Professional Services in relation to Council's position relative to the proposed Darlington Generating Station. 7. M.T.C. re Disposition of Surplus Property It was recommended to Council that the letter dated October 21st, 1975 from Ministry of Transportation and Communications regarding disposition of surplus lands from the Highway No. 2 reconstruction, be referred to the Mayor, Planner and Director of Public Works for recommendation. j �1bt ✓G:w v Ps 4 L vG Committee of the Whole Report 8. School Bus Shelter Page 2 It was recommended to Council that the Report of the Director of Public Works regarding the location of a school bus shelter at Spry Avenue and Waverly Road in which he does not approve of the said shelter, be concurred with. (See attached Report) 9. Memorial Park Club House It was recommended to Council that an Agreement be drawn up between the Memorial Park Association and the Town incorprating the previous Agreement, spelling out that the responsibility of running the Club lies exclusively with the Memorial Park Association. 10. Furniture for Committee Room It was recommended to Council that stacked chairs be purchased for the Committee Room also two arm chairs and also any other necessary equipment. 11. Christmas Party It was recommended that Council contribute an amount up to $300.00 to the Town Christmas Party if necessary. Respectfully Submitted I:enneth E. Lyall Chairman
