HomeMy WebLinkAbout1975-03-24 ReportReport No, 3 Mayor Rickard & Members of Council: The following recommendations were made at a meeting of the Committee of the Whole held on March 24th, 1975:- 1, O.H.C. Rent Supplement Programme THAT Ontario Housing Corporation be requested to provide rental housing accommodation for families and individuals on a rent -geared -to -income basis in the Town of Newcastle under the Rent Supplement Program, The Corporation of the Municipality of Newcastle hereby undertakes and agrees to contribute 71i per cent of any operating loss arising outof the said housing. 20 Mr, Cureatz re Building Permit THAT the Clerk and Planning Director be instructed to prepare a by-law to amend the former Village of Newcastle Zoning By-law for presentation to next meeting of Council such by-law to allow for the variance required in relation to Mr. Cureatz's application, 3, Fire Arms By -Law THAT the Fire Arms By -Law be corrected in accordance with Mr. McNeely's letter and presented to Council. 4, Mearns Avenue Road Allowance in Soper Creek Area THAT Council concur with Councillor Entwisle's action in instructing Mr. Howden to consult with Mr. McNeely and Mr. Strike regarding the status of the Mearn's Avenue unopened road allowance in Plan 698 and report back to Committee of the Whole so that Mr, J. Johnston's letter may be replied to. 5, House Numbering THAT Council concur with the Building Department recommendations regarding house numbering on Oshawa Town Line and that the Mayor follow up the matter with the Chief Building Inspector, 6, New Zoning By -Law - Town of Newcastle THAT Municipal Planning Consultants be authorised to prepare a new Comprehensive Zoning By -Law for the Town of Newcastle, Continued,,,,, �Rn,yro.ac./�ff` - 2 - Report No, 3 7, Forbes Sale to Millen - Home Smith Subdivision T&lT Home Smith be advised that Council has been made aware of flooding problems in the Subdivision and it is assumed that the grading was not properly carried out and a report on corrective measures is expected and that a copy of Totten Sims Hubicki letter dated March 21st, 1975 be sent to Mr. Ferguson to follow up on the situation and that Totten Sims Hubicki be kept up to date, Respectfully Submitted Garnet B.
