BY-LAW #2000-215
being a by-law to authorize the making of an extension agreement under
the Municipal Tax Sales Act respecting Part 1 on Plan l OR-3770
WHEREAS at a meeting held on December 18, 2000, the Council of the
Municipality of Clarington passed a resolution to enter into an extension
agreement under the Municipal Tax Sales Act, R.S.O. 1990 c.M.60, as amended;
NOW THEREFORE THE COUNCIL OF THE CORPORATION OF THE
MUNICIPALITY OF CLARINGTON HEREBY ENACTS AS FOLLOWS:
THAT the Mayor and Clerk on behalf of the Municipality of Clarington are
authorized to execute an extension agreement under the Municipal Tax
Sales Act between the Municipality and the owner of Part of Lot 9,
Concession 2, Darlington, designated as Part 1 on Plan IOR-3770 to
extend the period of time in which the "cancellation price" (as defined in
the Act) is to be paid until February 28, 2001 provided that:
- $6,000 is paid to the Municipality on the execution of the extension
agreement by the Municipality;
- $6,000 is paid to the Municipality on or before January 31, 2001; and
- the balance of the cancellation price on or before the 28th day of
February 2001,
and the extension agreement contains such other terms and conditions
as the Treasurer considers necessary to protect the interests of the
Municipality.
By-law read a first and second time this 18th day of December 2000.
By-law read a third time and finally passed this 18th day of December 2000.
