Board of Management Meeting Minutes

The meeting was called to order by the Chair.
1. Presentation by Delegations
(a) Chris Broumley, Nerivon
Nerivon will have staff resources available this week and next week to begin work on the
event application updates required. The version of the website system is very outdated and
will require upgrade in the future. Chris recommends that he return to update the Board
once the changes to the website regarding applications are complete.
(b) Sheila Hall, Clarington Board of Trade & Teresa Shaver, Business Advisory Centre of Durham
Teresa is the Executive Director of BACD and presented on the Digital Main Street program
sponsored by the Economic Development program of the provincial government. BACD
applied and received funding for 8 BIAS in Durham, including Bowmanville. The grant is $10
000 per BIA. With the grant monies, BACD has hired a digital services squad until March 31,
2020 consisting of 2 persons from existing companies

3. Business Arisine from Previous Minutes
(a) The Board of Management held a Retirement Celebration dinner for Garth Gilpin on
February 5, 2019. Mr. Gilpin was recognized for his 36.5 years of service to the HDB BIA
with a presentation from Mayor Adrian Foster, and presentations on behalf of MPP Lindsey
