CERTIFICATE OF ACCEPTANCE, STORM SEWER SYSTEM
Recommendations:
It is respectfully recommended that the General Purpose and
Administration Committee recommend to Council the following:
1. THAT Report WD-3-98 be received; and
2. THAT the Director of Public Works be authorized to issue a
'Certificate of Acceptance' for the storm sewer system
constructed within Plan 40M-1691.

2.0 BACKGROUND
2.1 On November 22, 1991, the former Town of Newcastle entered
into a Subdivision Agreement with veltri and Sons Corporation
to develop lands by plan of subdivision, located in
Bowmanville, and described as Plan 40M-1691 (Attachment No.1) .
The agreement required the developer to construct all
roadworks including hot-mix paving, curb and gutter,
sidewalks, boulevard sodding and street trees, a storm
drainage system, water quality works and street lights,
hereinafter referred to as the 'Works'.

2.2 The Storm Sewer Svstem was completed and a 'Certificate of
Completion' was issued dated October 16, 1995. The system was
placed on a two year maintenance period which expired on
October 16, 1997. The sewer works were re-inspectedand all
deficiencies have now been corrected to the satisfaction of
the Director.
2.3 It is now appropriate to issue a 'Certificate of Acceptance'
for the 9torm Sewer Svstem only. The Subdivision Agreement
provides for this certificate to be issued by the Director of
Public Works, subject to the approval of Council.
