Mr. J. Caruana Director, Community Services 40 Temperance Street Bowmanville, Ontario L 1 C 3A6 Dear Mr. Caruana: During the past month, the Fire and Disaster Committee at Memorial Hospital, Bowmanville has been in the process of revising it's Fire and Disaster Procedures Manuals. It is necessary that the Hospital have a formal plan to address evacuation procedures and the location patients will be taken in the event of a fire or disaster. The Committee has suggested that the Bowmanville Recreation Complex located at Highway #2 and Regional Road #57 would be an ideal evacuation centre because of the size of the building and the fact that ground level access (no stairs) is available. On behalf of the Committee and Memorial Hospital, I would like to formally request your consideration in designating the Bowmanville Recreation Complex as the evacuation centre for Memorial Hospital. Please let me know as soon as possible as to the acceptance or rejection of our proposal. Thank you for your consideration. Sincerely, ~~n Director, Engineering Services cc: R.E. Elston R.K.
