THE CORPORATION OF THE TOWN OF NEWCASTLE
By-Law 81-195
being a by-law to adopt a policy in respect
to expense allowance for Members of Council
and Administrative Staff when attending
conferences and municipal business away
from the municipality.
The Council of the Corporation of the Town of Newcastle HEREBY ENACTS
AS FOLLOWS:-
That a Policy in respect to expense allowances for members
of Council and Administrative Staff when attending conferences
and municipal business away from the municipality; as per the
attached Policy Statement, be adopted.

POLICY STATEMENT
Convention Expense Allowance
That each member of Council and staff, when attending
conferences and municipal business away from the Municipality
be re-imbursed for reasonable out of pocket expenses. The
total expenses for conventions are not to exceed a limit set
by the annual budget process.
All expenses must be supported by proper receipts and filed
on an expense report.
The reasonableness of expenses will be made giving consideration
to the location and duration of the convention or meeting
attended.
