BY-LAW 96-30
being a by-law to amend By-law 83-150, as amended,
a by-law for the licensing and regulating of
transient traders in the municipality
WHEREAS the Council of the Corporation of the Municipality of
Clarington has adopted the recommendations contained within
Report #ADMIN-2-96 to adjust existing administrative fees and to
impose new administrative fees to recover costs incurred by the
Municipality in providing information and services :
NOW THEREFORE THE COUNCIL OF THE CORPORATION OF THE MUNICIPALITY
OF CLARINGTON ENACTS AS FOLLOWS:
1 . THAT By-law 83-150, as amended, is further amended by
repealing the following sentence from Section 2 . :
"Every transient trader or other person whose name is not
entered on the assessment roll, or is entered on it for the
first time, in respect of business assessment, and who
offers goods, wares or merchandise for sale, shall pay a
licence fee before commencing to trade in the amount of Two
Hundred and Fifty Dollars ($250 . 00) . "
and replacing it with the following sentence :
"Every transient trader or other person whose name is not
entered on the assessment roll, or is entered on it for the
first time, in respect of business assessment, and who
offers goods, wares or merchandise for sale, shall pay a
licence fee before commencing to trade in the amount of
Three Hundred Dollars ($300 . 00) . "
2 . THAT this by-law shall take effect February 1, 1996 .
By-law read a first and second time this 29th day of January
1996 .
By-law read a third time and finally passed this 29th day of
January 1996 .
