THE CORPORATION OF THE
TOWN OF NEWCASTLE
BY-LAW NO. 78-6
a by-law of the Corporation of the Town of Newcastle
to establish the position and to define and determine
the duties and responsibilities of the By-Law Enforcement
Officer.
WHEREAS it is deemed expedient and desitable to establish the position
of By-Law Enforcement Officer and to define, and determine the duties and
responsibilities thereof;
NOW THEREFORE THE COUNCIL OF THE CORPORATION OF THE TOWN OF NEWCASTLE
ENACTS AS FOLLOWS:
1. That there is hereby established the position of By-Law Enforcement Officer.
2. That under the direction of the Town Clerk the By-Law Enforcement Officer
will carry out the following duties:
(a) be responsible for enforcement of all Town By-Laws and to collect
and present evidence before the courts when necessary.
(b) supervise parking control Officers.
(c) supervise Animal Control Officers and Dog Licence Issuers.
(d) supervise School Crossing Guards.
(e) carry out such other duties as may be assigned by the Town Clerk
from time to time.
3. That By-Law #74-7 and all other By-laws not consistent with this By-law
be and are hereby repealed.
