THE CORPORATION OF THE
TOWN OF NEWCASTLE
By-Law No. 78-110
Being a by-law to ratify and confirm the
salaries of the :Mayor and MEmbers of
Council.
WHEREAS on recomnendation of Currie, Coopers and Lybrand Ltd. it was
recaIlOOnded that the salaries of the Mayor and Members of Council be
increased from $11,800.00 to $12,100.00 and from $5,000.00 to
$5,500.00, respectively;
AND WHEREAS the Anti-Inflation Board approved the increase in the 1977
salaries in the azrount of $11,880.00 for the Mayor and $5,400.00 for
the MEmbers of Council;
AND WHEREAS by Resolution #C-77-787 dated the 6th of June, 1977 the
aforesaid salaries were approved;
NOW 'llIEREFORE BE IT ENACIED and it is hereby enacted as a by-law of
the Town of Newcastle as follows:-

1. 'IHAT the Mayor be paid an annual allowance of $11,880.00 for the
year, 1977.
2. THAT the remaining Manbers of Council be paid an annual allowance
of $5,400.00 for the year 1977.
3. THAT one-third of such annual allowances shall be deEmed to be for
expenses incident to the discharge of the duties of the Mayor or as
Member of Council.
4. 'llIAT Resolution-In~uncil #C-77-787 dated the 6th day of June, 1977
be and the same is hereby ratified and confirmed.
