THE CORPORATION OF THE
TOWN OF NEWCASTLE
BY-LAW NO. 77-79
a by-law to amend By-law 77-74, being
a by-law authorizing Council to establish
the Orono Arena as a Community Centre
WHEREAS, on the Third Day of October, 1977 the Council of the
Corporation of the Town of Newcastle enacted By-law No. 77-74, being
a by-law to establish the Orono Arena as a Community Centre; and
WHEREAS the said Council now deems it desirable to amend said
By-law No. 77-74;
THEREFORE, the Council of the Corporation of the Town of
Newcastle ENACTS AS FOLLOWS:
That Section 2 of By-law No. 77-74 be deleted and the following new
Section 2 substituted:
2. That the aforesaid arena, community centre and grandstand be under
the management and control of a board appointed by this Council to be
called "The Orono Arena Community Centre Board" and hereinafter referred
to as the "Board", to be comprised of 7 persons all cf whom shall be appointed
annually by Council; two of whom shall be members of Council and it it the wish
of this Council, without binding any future Council that, two members sLall
be representatives of The Durham Central Agricultural Society, two members
shall be representatives of the Orono Athletic Association and one member
shall be nominated from the Orono Community at a public meeting called for
the purpose of nominating a representative to such Board.
