being a by-law to establish a Community
Recreation Centre at the Orono Town Hall
WHEREAS the Community Recreation Centres Act, 1974, provides
in Section 2 (1) that the Council of any municipality may, ty by-law
provide for the establishment of one or more community recreation
centres in accordance with the said Act and may acquire by purchase,
lease or otherwise real and personal property for that purpose:
AND FHEREAS the Corporation of the Town of Newcastle is
desirous of establishing a community recreation centre at the Orono
Town Hall, Main and Park Streets, former Village of Orono, in the
Town of Newcastle, P.egional Municipality of Durham:
THEREFCRE, the Council of the Corporation of the Town of
Newcastle enacts as follows:
.
1. That a community recreation centre defined as a
recreation centre be established and operated by the
Corporation pursuant to the provisions of the Community
Recreation Centres Act, 1974.
2. That the Mayor and the Clerk be and they are hereby
authorized to execute all documents necessary. to give
effect to the foregoing.
