A By-law to amend Restricted Area By-~aw Number 1653, as ameneded,
of the former Township of Clarke
WHEREAS, the Council of the Corporation of the Town of Newcastle deems it advisable
to amend Restricted Area By-law Number 1653, as amended;
NOW THEREFORE, the Council of the Corporation of the Town of Newcastle ENACTS as
follows:
1. Section 2 of By-law 1653 is hereby amended by inserting therein
the following Section 2.24 -
"2.24 -"Senior Citizens Row Dwelling House" means a group
of 3 or more attached dwelling units which are
used exclusively by persons 60 years of age and
over"
2. Section 2 of By-law 1653 is hereby amended by changing to 2.25,
2.26, 2.27, 2.28, 2.29 and 2.30 the numbers of sections previously
numbered 2.24, 2.25, 2.26, 2.27, 2.28 and 2.29 respectively.
3. Section 3.11 of By-law 1653 is hereby amended by adding to the Min-
imum Parking Requirement for residential buildings the following
words -
"except in the Rl-l zone, where only one parking space
per four dwelling units or fraction thereof is required"
4. Section 4 of By-law 1653 is hereby amended by adding thereto the
following subsection 4.3 -
"4.3 Special Provisions
(a) Rl-1 Lot 29, Concession 5
Notwithstanding any provision of sections 4.1,4.2 aud 3.3(c)
hereof to the contrary, the lands which are designa-
ted Rl-1 on Schedule "A" hereto shall be used for no
purpose other than one or more Senior Citizens Row
Dwelling Houses erected and used in accordance with
Appendix 1 hereof."
5. Appendix 1 of By-law 1653, entitled "Provisions for Residential
Uses" is hereby amended by adding thereto the following subsection 3:
"(3) Senior Citizens Dwelling House
No person shall use any lot or erect or use any build-
ing or structure for the purpose of a senior citizens
dwelling house except in accordance with the following
provisions -

6. Map 3 of Schedule "A" to By-law Number 1653, entitled "Detail of Orono
Police Village Area", is hereby amended by changing to Rl-l the zone
symbol of the lands designated "ZONE CHANGE TO R1-1" on Schedule "X"
hereto.
1. This By-law shall become effective on the date hereof, subject to
receiving the approval of the Ontario Municipal Board.
