REPEALED BY f/.:."UW I.7kl.:21l THE CORPORATION OF THE TOWN OF NEWCASTLE By-Law No. 75-8 Being a by-law to authorize speed limits on certain highways under the jurisdiction of the Corporation of the Town of Newcastle. WHEREAS Subsection 5 of Section 82 of The Highway Traffic Act (R.S.O. 1970, Chapter 202) authorizes the Council of a city, town or village and the trustees of a police village by by-law to prescribe a higher rate of speed for motor vehicles driven on any highway or portion of highway under its jurisdiction than is prescribed in Subsection 1 of Section 82 providing that such increased rate of speed shall not be more than 60 miles per hour; AND WHEREAS it is deemed expedient that the speed limit for motor vehicles on c~rtain highways in The Town of Newcastle be increased; NOW THEREFORE BE IT ENACTED and it is hereby enacted as a by-law of The Corporation of The Town of Newcastle through its Council thereof as follows: 1. When any highway or portion of highway set out below in Column 1, between the limits as set out in Column 2, is marked in compliance with the regulations of The Highway Traffic Act the maximum rate of speed thereon shall be the rate of speed set out opposite thereto in Column 3. Column I Highway Column 2 Between Column 3 Rate of Speed Third Line Road, (highway between Concessions 2 and 3, former Township of Clarke) King's Highway No. 35 and 115 and the road allowance bebleen Lots 32 and 33, former To,~ship of Clarke. 40 miles per hour Leskard Road (highw~y Between Lots 30 and 31, Concessions 6 and 7, former Township of Clarke) Durham Regional Road 4 (Taunton Road), and 100 feet north of the 7th Line Road (highway between Concessions 6 and 7, former Township of Clarke) 40 miles per hour 2. The penalties provided in Subsection 16 of Section 82 of The Highway Traffic Act shall apply to offences against this by-law. ..... 2 ~ r - . . \ I jl/f - 2 - By-Law No. 75-8 3.
