By-Law NOg 75-70
Being a by-law to authorize the prov1s1on
of municipal and school tax credits for
the assistance of elderly personso
tnrEREAS the Municipal and School Tax Credit Assistance Act, 1967, authorizes
local municipalities to provide for municipal and school tax credits or refunds
for the assistance of elderly persons.
AND ~HllffiEAS the Council wishes to provide such credits or refunds.
NOW THEREFORE the Council of the Corporation of the Town of Newcastle
enacts as follows:-
THAT the Treasurer is authorized and directed to allow credits or refunds of
municipal taxes in the maximum amount and to the persons specified in Subsection 1
of Section 2 of the 11unicipal and School Tax Credit Assistance Act, 1967.
AND THAT applicants for credit are required to produce documents of title such as
a conveyance, a mortgage or an Agreement for sale, so that the Registered Instrument
Number or the Parcel Number may be copied directly onto the Notice of Lien.
THAT the following By-laws are hereby repealed:-
(a) By-Law No. 67-19 of the former Town of Bolvrnanvi11eo
(b) By-Law No" 67-15 or the former Village of Newcastleo
(c) By-Law No. 1554 of the former Township of Clarke"
