BY-LAW No. 79-98
A BY-LAW TO CONFIRM THE PRO:EEDINGS OF 'llIE OOUNCIL
OF 'lHE rom OF NEWCASTLE AT THIS MEETING HELD ON THE
17th DAY OF
September
19 79
WHERE.A:3 by Section 9 of the Municipal Act, being Chapter 284
of the Revised Statues of Ontario, 1970, the powers of a municipal
corporation are to be exercised by its Council;
AND WHEREAS by Subsection 1 of Section 241 of The Municipal Act,
being Chapter 284 of the Revised Statues of Ontario, 1970, the powe:r:s
of every Council are to be exercised by by-law;
N:JN 'IHEREFORE 'lHE COUNCIL OF THE TOWN OF NEWCASTLE EN"ACIS AS FOLlOWS:
1.
The actions of the Council of the ~ Of. Newcastle at this
meeting held on the! lP. day of ~~197 9, in respect of each
recoomendation contained in the reports of the Carmittees and
each rrotion and resolution passed and other action taken by the
Council of the Town of Newcastle at this meeting is hereby
adopted and confinned as if all such proceedingS were 'expressly
anbodied in this by-law.
2. The Mayor and proper officials of the Town of Newcastle are
hereby authorized and directed to do all things necessary to
give effect to the actions of the Council of the 'Ibwn of Newcastle
referred to in the preceeding section hereof.
3. The Mayor and Clerk are authorized and directed. to execute all
documents necessary in that behalf and to affix thereto the Seal
of the Town of Newcastle.
