By-Law No. 79-85
A BY-LAW TO CDNFIRM '!lIE PROCEEDINGS OF TIIE CDUNCIL
OF 'IHE TOWN OF NEWCASTLE AT THE MEETINGS HElD ON 'IHE
SEVENTEENTH DAY OF AUGUm' 1979 AND 'IHE 'IWENTY-SEVEN'lH
DAY OF AUGUST 1979.
WHEREAS by Section 9 of the Municipal Act, being Chapter 284
of the Revised Statues of Ontario, 1970, the powers of a municipal
corporation are to be exercised by its Council;
AND WHEREAS by Subsection 1 of Section 241 of The Municipal Act,
being Chapter 284 of the Revised Statues of Ontario, 1970, the powers
of every Council are to be exercised by by-law;
e NOW 'IHEREFORE 'IHE CUlNCIL OF TIIE '!OWN OF NEWCASTLE ENACI'S AS FOllDWS:
1. The actions of the Carmcil of the Town of Newcastle at the meeting held
on the 17th day of August 1979 and at the meeting held on the
27th day of August 1979 in respect of each recoornendation contained in the
reports of the Comni ttees and each rrotion and resolution passed and other
action taken by the Council of the Town of Newcastle at these meetings
are hereby adopted and confirmed as if all such proceedings were expressly
an}::x)died in this by-law.
2. The Mayor and proper officials of the Town of Newcastle are hereby
authorized and directed to do all things necessary to give effect
to the actions of the Council of the Town of Newcastle referred to
in the preceeding ection hereof.
3. The Mayor and Clerk are authorized and directed to execute all
documents necessary in that behalf and to affix thereto the Seal
of the Town of Newcastle.
