THE CORPORATION OF THE
TOWN OF NEWCASTLE
By-Law No. 79-62
A by-law to provide for the payment of an annual
allowance to .the Mayor and Members of Council
PURSUANT to the Municipal Act, R.S.O. 1970, Chapter 284, Section 211,
Section 389 and Section 392, the Council of the Corporation of the Town of
Newcastle HEREBY ENACTS as follows:
1. That the Mayor be paid an annual allowance of Fourteen
Thousand, Six Hundred Dollars, ($14,600.)
2. That the Regional Councillors be paid an annual allowance
of Six Thousand, Seven Hundred Dollars, ($6,700).
3. That the Area Councillors be paid an annual allowance of
Eight Thousand, Two Hundred Dollars ($8,200.).
4. Such allowance shall be paid semi-monthly and in the event
of the death of a member oruporrhis ceasing to be a member
for any reason before the expiration of his term of office,
the amount shall be in proportion to the period of his
service during such term.
5. The provision of this by-law to be retroactive to May 1st,
1979.
6. That By-Law 78-67 be and is hereby repealed.
