THE CORPORATION OF THE TOWN OF NEWCASTLE
BY-LAW 81-80
being a by-law to establish a policy with respect
to the unauthorized removal of trees from Town
owned lands
The Council of the Corporation of the Town of Newcastle hereby
ENACTS AS FOLLOWS:
1. No trees shall be removed from Town owned properties except by
Town employees in the course of their employment, without the
written approval of the Director or Deputy Director of Public Works.
2. Any person apprehended removing trees from Town owned property without
written authorization from the Director or the Deputy Director of
Public Works will be charged with theft under the Criminal Code of
Canada.
3. The Town shall commence civil proceedings for the recovering of the
value of any trees removed without the authorization in writing of
the Director or Deputy Director of Public Works.
This by-law shall take effect on the day of final reading.
By-Law read a first time this Twenty-Ninth day of June 1981.
By-Law read a second time this Twenty-Ninth day of June 1981.
By-Law read a third and final time this Twenty-Ninth day of June 1981.
