THE CORPORATION OF THE TOWN OF NEWCASTLE
By-Law 81-6
being a by-law to adopt a Policy in respect of
Unmaintained Road Construction in the Town of
Newcastle
The Council of the Corporation of the Town of Newcastle hereby
ENACTS AS FOLLOWS:
That a Policy in respect of Unmaintained Road Construction in
the Town of Newcastle and that the said Policy shall be as follows:

That the Town will not undertake the construction
of any unmaintained road for a period of 24 months
and, further, the Town will not, within the 24-month
period, assume for maintenance purposes any additional
roads, save and except those which are constructed
by others, at no cost to the Town, under a Subdivision
Agreement, The Local Improvement Act or private
enterprise, provided that the roads so constructed
meet the Design Criteria and Construction Standards
required by the Town and that all applications for
implementation of the Policy must be approved by the
Municipality and be in accordance with the provisions
of the appropriate Zoning By-Law and conform to the
Development Policy as stated in the Official Plan.
