THE CORPORATION OF THE
TOWN OF NEWCASTLE
BY-LAW NO. 81 - 31
being a by-law to establish a Community Recreation
Centre known as the Town of Newcastle Fitness Centre
Activities Area.
WHEREAS the Community Recreation Centres Act, 1974,
provides in Section 2 (1) that the Council of any municipality
may, by By-Law, provide for the establishment of one or more
community recreation centres in accordance with the said Act
and may acquire by purchase, lease or otherwise real and per-
sonal property for that purpose:
AND WHEREAS the Corporation of the Town of Newcastle
is desirous of establishing a community recreation centre at
the Town of Newcastle Fitness Centre Activities Area, former
Town of Bowmanville.

THEREFORE, the Council of the Corporation of the Town
of Newcastle enacts as follows:
1. That a community recreation centre defined as a
community hall with a floor area greater than
200 square feet be established and operated by the
Corporation pursuant to the provisions of the
Community Recreation Centres Act, 1974.
2. That the Mayor and the Clerk be and they are
hereby authorized to execute all documents necessary
to give effect to the foregoing.
