THE CORPORATION OF THE TOWN OF NEWCASTLE
BY-lAW 81-120
being a by-law to confirm certain proceedings of the
Council of the Town of Newcastle at this meeting held
on the 21st day of August 1981
WHEREAS by Section 9 of The Municipal Act, being Chapter 284 of the Revised
Statutes of Ontario 1970, the powers of a municipal corporation are to be
exercised by its Council.
AND WHEREAS by Subsection 1 of Section 241 of The Municipal Act, being Chapter
284 of the Revised Statutes of Ontario 1970, the powers of every Council are to
be exercised by by-law;
NOW THEREFORE THE COUNCIL OF THE TOWN OF NEWCASTLE ENACTS AS FOllOWS:
1. The actions of the Council of the Town of Newcastle at this meeting held
on the 21st day of August 1981 in respect of each recommendation contained
in the following are hereby adopted and confirmed as if all such proceedings
were expressly embodied in this by-law:
The report of the Community Services Meeting dated
August 21 1981;
D. Hamre's letter respecting the declaring of the month
of September IIArthritis Monthll; and
Councillor Hamre's motion with respect to the awarding of
contracts without tenders or Council authorization.
2. The Mayor and proper officials of the Town of Newcastle are hereby authorized
and directed to do all things necessary to give effect to the actions of
the Council of the Town of Newcastle referred to in the preceeding section
hereof.
3. The Mayor and Clerk are authorized and directed to execute all documents
necessary in that behalf and to affix thereto the Seal of the Town of
Newcastle.
PASSED IN OPEN COUNCIL this Eighth day of September 1981.
