THE CORPORATION OF THE TOWN OF NEWCASTLE
BY-LAW 83-153
being a by-law to stop-up and close and to
authorize the sale of all of unopened Clarke
Street, between Blocks "IIt and "N" and Part
of Village Lot 9, Block "N", C. G. Hanning's
Plan of Part of Lot 28, Broken Front Concession
of the former Village of Newcastle, now in the
Town of Newcastle
WHEREAS the Council of the Corporation of the Town of Newcastle deems it
desirable to pass this by-law;
AND WHEREAS notice of intention of the Council to pass the said by-law in
accordance with the requirements of Section 301, Chapter 302, of The Municipal
Act, R.S.O. 1980, was published in the Newcastle Reporter on October 19,
October 26, November 2, and November 9, 1983.
AND WHEREAS notice of the intention of Council to pass this by-law was sent by
Registered Mail to the Regional Municipality of Durham on the 14th day of
October 1983, and the Regional Municipality of Durham granted approval of the
proposed by-law by letter dated the 7th day of November 1983.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT ENACTED AND IT IS HEREBY ENACTED AS A BY-LAW OF THE
CORPORATION OF THE TOWN OF NEWCASTLE AS FOLLOWS:
1. ALL that portion of unopened Cl arke Street, between Blocks It I It and ItW1,
and part of Village Lot 9, Block ItNIt, all according to C. H. Hanning's Plan
of part of Lot 28, in the Broken Front Concession in the former Village of
Newcastle, hereinafter described is hereby stopped up and closed:
ALL AND SINGULAR that certain parcel or tract of land, situate, lying
and being in the Town of Newcastle, Regional Municipality of Durbam,
Province of Ontario, and being composed of all of the unopened Clarke
Street between BlofZks ItI" and "NIt, and part of Village Lot 28, in the
Broken Front Concession of the Geographic Village of Newcastle, and being
more particularly designated as Parts 1 and 2, according to a Reference
Plan deposited in the Land Registry Office for the Registry Division of
Newcastle (No. 10), on the 17th day of August 1983, as Plan 10R-1671.
2. ALL that portion of the said road allowance hereinbefore described shall
be conveyed by the Town of Newcastle to abutting owners.
By-law read a first and second time this 14th day of November 1983.
By-law read a third time and finally passed this 14th day of November 1983.

Newcastle (No. 10), on the 17th day of August 1983, as Plan 10R-1671.
