TOWN OF NEWCASTLE
BY-LAW NO. 83- 122
A 8Y-LAW TO CONFIRM THE PROCEEDINGS OF THE COUNCIL OF THE TOWN OF
NEWCASTLE AT TH,:5 MEETINGfHELD ON THE 17th AND 18th
DAY OF AUGUST 1983.
WHEREAS by Section 9 of The Municipal Act, being Chapter 284 of the
Revised Statutes of Ontario 1970, the powers of a municipal corporation
are to be exercised by its Council.
AND WHEREAS by Subsection 1 of Section 241 of The Municipal Act, being
ChJpter 284 of the Revised Statutes of Ontario 1970, the powers of
every Council are to be exercised by by-law;
NOW THEREFORE THE COUNCIL OF THE TOWN OF NEWCASTLE ENACTS AS FOLLOWS:
1.
The actions of the Council of the Town of Newcastle at this
IlIeeting held on the 17th day of August 1983, and the 18th day of August 1983,
in respect of each reco"m~ndation contained in the reports of the
Committees and each lIlotion and resolution passed and other action
taken by the Council of the Town of Newcastle at this meeting is
hel'eby adopted and confi rllled as if a 11 such proceedi ngs were
expressly embodied in this By-law.
2. The Mayor and proper officials of the Town of Newcastle are
hereby authorized and directed to do all things necessary to
give effect to the actions of the Council of the Town of
Newcastle referred to in the preceeding section hereof.
3. The Mayor and Clerk are authorized and directed to execute all
documents necessary in that behal f and to affix thereto the
seal of the Town of Newcastle.
PASSED IN OPEN COUNCIL this 12th day of
September 1983.
