THE CORPORATION OF THE TOWN OF NEWCASTLE
BY-LAW 84- 41
being a by-law to stop-up and close and to
authorize the sale of all of unopened Darcy
Street, between Blocks lEI and II', C. G.
Hanning Plan of Part of Lot 28 in the Broken
Front Concession of the former Village of
Newcastle, now in the Town of Newcastle
WHEREAS the Council of the Corporation of the Town of Newcastle deems it
desirable to pass this by-law;
AND WHEREAS notice of intention of the Council to pass the said by-law in
accordance with the requirements of Section 301, Chapter 302, of The Municipal
Act, R.S.O. 1980, was published in the Newcastle Reporter on February 29th,
March 7th, March 14th and March 21, 1984;
AND WHEREAS notice of the intention of Council to pass this by-law was sent by
Registered Mail to the Regional Municipality of Durham on the 20th day of
February 1984, and the Regional Municipality of Durham granted approval of the
proposed by-law by letter dated the 12th day of March 1984.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT ENACTED AND IT IS HEREBY ENACTED AS A BY-LAW OF THE
CORPORATION OF THE TOWN OF NEWCASTLE AS FOLLOWS:
1. All that portion of unopened Darcy Street, between Blocks lEI and' Irr according
to C. G. Hanning's Plan of Part of Lot 28, in the Broken Front Concession in
the former Village of Newcastle, hereinafter described is hereby stopped-up
and closed:
ALL AND SINGULAR that certain parcel of tract of land, situate, lying and
being in the Town of Newcastle, Regional Municipality of Durham, Province
of Ontario, and being composed of all of the unopened Darcy Street, between
Blocks IE' and Ill, in the Broken Front Concession of the geographic Village
of Newcastle, and being more particularly designated as Parts 1, 2, 3 and 4,
according to a Reference Plan deposited in the Land Registry Office for the
Registry Division of Newcastle (NO. 10), on the 31st day of January 1984, as
Plan 10R-1766.
2. ALL that portion of the said road allowance hereinbefore described ~hall be
conveyed by the Town of Newcastle to abutting owners.
By-law read a first and second time this 26th day of March 1984.
By-law read a third time and finally passed this 26th day of March 1984.
