THE CORPORATION OF THE TOWN OF NEWCASTLE
BY-LAW NUMBER 84- 143
Being a by-law to authorize the expenditure of
$300,000 as the municipal contribution to the
Bowmanville Memorial Hospital Renovation and
Expansion.
WHEREAS the Bowmanville Memorial Hospital has undertaken a $5,800,000
renovation and expansion of its facilities;
THEREFORE THE CORPORATION OF THE TOWN OF NEWCASTLE ENACTS AS FOLLOWS:
1. That the municipal contribution to the project be
$300,000 in total, being a $50,000 contribution in kind
and a $250,000 contribution in cash.
2. That the $50,000 contribution in kind consist of the
value of lands to be transfered for the road closing and
the related administrative staff time and costs.
3. That the $250,000 contribution in cash be paid in equal
installments in each of three years being 1985, 1986 and
1987 and that the funds be prov i ded fran the general
taxation revenues.
4. That this by-law not take effect until approved by the
OMB pursuant to Section 64(1) of the Ontario Municipal
Board Act.

THE BOARD ORDERS that the applicant may make such contribution in the amount
of $250,000.00 and may pass all requisite by-laws, provided that such
contribution shall be paid out of current revenue in the sum of $83,333.33
in each of the years 1985 to 1987 inclusive and further provided that the
counci 1 of the app 1 i cant corporati on in exerci si ng any power approved by
this order shall comply and conform with all statutory and other legal
requirements related thereto.
