THE CORPORATION OF THE TOWN OF NEWCASTLE
BY-LAW 91-202
being a by-law to repeal By-law #90-38 and to
appoint an Acting Mayor for the Town of
Newcastle.
WHEREAS Section 72(3) of the Municipal Act, R.S.O. 1980, Chapter
302, authorizes the Council of a municipality to appoint an
Acting Mayor;
AND WHEREAS the Council of the Corporation of the Town of
Newcastle deems it expedient to appoint a Member of the Council
to act from time-to-time in the place and stead of the Head of
Council when the Head of Council is absent from the Municipality
or absent through illness or her office is vacant and, while so
acting, such Member has and may exercise all the rights, powers
and authority of the Head of Council;
NOW THEREFORE THE COUNCIL OF THE CORPORATION OF THE TOWN OF
NEWCASTLE HEREBY ENACTS AS FOLLOWS:
1. THAT each Councillor serve in alphabetical order for a
two-month period as follows:
Councillor Larry Hannah December 1991 and January 1992
Councillor Ken Hooper February and March 1992
Councillor Mary Novak April and May 1992
Councillor John O'Toole June and July 1992
Councillor David Scott August and September 1992
Councillor Ann Dreslinski October and November 1992
Councillor Larry Hannah December 1992 and January 1993
Councillor Ken Hooper February and March 1993
Councillor Mary Novak April and May 1993
Councillor John O'Toole June and July 1993
Councillor David Scott August and September 1993
Councillor Ann Dreslinski October and November 1993
Councillor Larry Hannah December 1993 and January 1994
Councillor Ken Hooper February and March 1994
Councillor Mary Novak April and May 1994
Councillor John O'Toole June and July 1994
Councillor David Scott August and September 1994
Councillor Ann Dreslinski October and November 1994
2. THAT By-law #90-38 is hereby repealed.
By-law read a first and second time this 2nd day of
December 1991.
By-law read a third time and finally passed this 2nd day of
December 1991.
