HomeMy WebLinkAbout91-200 fiEPEALED SY ; BY-lAW ,J.f.;.'t~: THE CORPORATION OF THE TOWN OF NEWCASTLE BY-LAW 91-200 being a by-law to repeal by-laws #87-202, #88-186 and #91-077, and to appoint Members of the Newcastle Library Board. WHEREAS Section 9(1) of the Public Libraries Act, 1984, provides that a public library board for a municipality whose population is less than 100,000, shall be composed of at least five (5) and no more than nine (9) members appointed by the Municipal Council; AND WHEREAS pursuant to the requirements of the Public Libraries Act, 1984, the Council of the Corporation of The Town of Newcastle enacted By-law #85-85, establishing the composition of the Newcastle Public Library Board; NOW THEREFORE THE COUNCIL OF THE TOWN OF NEWCASTLE HEREBY ENACTS AS FOLLOWS: 1. THAT the membership of the Newcastle Public Library Board shall be composed as follows: a) Two representatives of the Northumberland and Newcastle Board of Education, as follows: Erla Jose Elizabeth Kerr b) One representative of the Peterborough - Victoria - Northumberland - Newcastle Roman Catholic Separate School Board, as follows: Maria Kordas-Fraser c) Five resident appointees, as follows: Laurie Baird Susan Hendricks Rene Krizanc Ramona Rickard Beverly Wakefield d) One representative of the Municipal Council, as follows: Councillor John O'Toole 2. THAT each board member shall hold office for a term concurrent with the term of the appointing Council, or until a successor is appointed, and may be re-appointed for one or more further terms. 3. THAT By-laws #87-202, #88-186 and #91-17 are hereby repealed. By-law read a first and second time this 2nd day of December 1991.
