BY-LAW 91- 149
being a by-law to submit a question to
a vote of the electors

WHEREAS Section 208(25) of the Municipal Act, R.S.O., 1980,
authorizes Council, by by-law, to submit to the vote of the
electors any municipal question not specifically authorized by
law to be submitted;
WHEREAS Council considers it appropriate to seek the op~n~on of
the electors of the Town on the question of whether the name of
the Town of Newcastle should be retained;
NOW THEREFORE THE COUNCIL OF THE TOWN OF NEWCASTLE ENACTS AS
FOLLOWS:
1. THAT the following question be submitted to a vote of the
electors of the Town of Newcastle at the municipal election
to be held on Tuesday, November 12th 1991:
"ARE YOU IN FAVOUR OF RETAINING THE NAME
OF THE TOWN OF NEWCASTLE?"
