THE CORPORATION OF THE TOWN OF NEWCASTLE
BY-LAW 90-69
being a by-law to authorize the issuance
of permits for the moving of heavy
vehicles, loads, objects or structures
WHEREAS Section 93 of the Highway Traffic Act, R.S.O. 1980, C. 198,
as amended, authorizes the municipal corporation or other authority
having jurisdiction over the highway, to grant a permit for the
moving of heavy vehicles, loads, objects or structures in excess
of the dimensional limits set out in Section 92 or the weight
limits set out in Part VII of the Highway Traffic Act;
AND WHEREAS By-law 90-68, which was passed by the Council of the
Town of Newcastle on April 9, 1990, restricts the weight upon the
axles of commercial vehicles or trailers on the Town of Newcastle
road system and repeals By-law 80-41;
NOW THEREFORE BE IT ENACTED AND IT IS HEREBY ENACTED, as a by-law
of the Corporation of the Town of Newcastle:
1. THAT the Director of Public Works of the Corporation of the
Town of Newcastle or his designate, are hereby designated as
persons authorized to issue such permits on behalf of the
Corporation;
2. THAT this by-law be in effect at such time as properly worded
signs are erected and on display in the Town of Newcastle.
