THE CORPORATION OF THE TOWN OF NEWCASTLE
BY-LAW 88-59
being a by-law to amend By-law 79-68, as amended,
being a by-law to establish a Board of Management
to operate a museum on its behalf (Clarke Museum)
WHEREAS on the 30th day of July 1979, the Council of the Corporation of the Town of
Newcastle passed By-law 79-68, to establish a Board of Management to operate a
museum on its behalf (Clarke Museum);
AND WHEREAS Section 3(a) of the said by-law provided that the Board shall consist
of two members of Council and five other members who are qualified to be elected as
members of Council;
AND WHEREAS Council deems it desirable to further amend By-law 79-68, as amended,
to provide that the Board shall consist of two members of Council and nine other
members who are qualified to be elected as Members of Council.
THEREFOR the Council of the Corporation of the TOwn of Newcastle hereby enacts as
follows:
1. THAT Section 3(a) of By-law 79-68 be amended to read as follows:
3(a) The Board shall consist of two members of Council
and nine other members who are qualified to be
elected as members of Council each of whom shall
be appointed by Council.
2. THAT By-law 8l-l0 be and is hereby repealed.
By-law read a first and second time this 9th day of May 1988.
By-law read a third time and finally passed this 9th day of May 1988.
