CORPORATION OF THE TOWN OF NEWCASTLE
BY-LAW 88 - 48
BEING A BY-LAW TO APPOINT A DIRECTOR OF COMMUNITY SERVICES
THE COUNCIL OF THE CORPORATION OF THE TOWN OF NEWCASTLE HEREBY
ENACTS AS FOLLOWS:
1. THAT MR. JOSEPH P. CARUANA is hereby appointed Director of Community
Services of the Town of Newcastle, effective April 1st 1988;
2. THAT the said appointment be in accordance with the terms and
conditions set out in Schedule "A" attached hereto.
3. THAT By-LaWS 82 - 172 and 82 - 173 be rescinded.
By-LaW read a first and second time this 8th day of April 1988
By-LaW read a third time and finally passed this 8th day of April 1988

SCHEDULE "A" TO BY-LAW 88 - 48
TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF THE APPOINTMENT OF MR. JOSEPH P. CARUANA AS THE
DIRECTOR OF COMMUNITY SERVICES FOR THE TOWN OF NEWCASTLE
The following shall be the terms and conditions related to the appointment of
Mr. Joseph P. Caruana as the Director of Community Services for the Town of
Newcastle, namely:
1. THAT effective April 1st 1988, Mr. Joseph P. Caruana shall assume the position
of Director of Community Services for the Corporation of the Town of Newcastle;
2. THAT the duties and responsibilities of the Director of Community
Services shall be in accordance with By-Law 88 - ~7 as may be amended from
time to time;
3. THAT Mr. Joseph P. Caruana shall be remunerated at Level 16, Step 11 in
accordance with the Salary Administration program of the Town of Newcastle for
non-affiliated staff;
4. THAT Mr. Joseph P. Caruana shall be entitled to all other employee
benefits for non-affiliated staff as may be determined from time to time.
