CORPORATION OF THE TOWN OF NEWCASTLE
BY-LAW 88 - 38
BEING A BY-LAW TO APPOINT A DEPUTY CLERK
THE COUNCIL OF THE CORPORATION OF THE TOWN OF NEWCASTLE HEREBY
ENACTS AS FOLLOWS:
1. THAT PATTI L. BARRIE is hereby appointed Deputy Clerk of the
Town of Newcastle, effective 8:30 a.m., April 5th 1988;
2. THAT the said appointment be in accordance with the terms and
conditions set out in Schedule "A" attached hereto.
3. THAT By-LaW 85 - 34 be repealed.
By-LaW read a first and second time this 28th day of March 1988

SCHEDULE "A" TO BY-LAW 88 - 38
TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF THE APPOINTMENT OF PA'lTI L. BARRIE AS THE DEPUTY CLERK
FOR THE TOWN OF NEWCASTLE
The following shall be the terms and conditions of the employment of
PA'lTI L. BARRIE as the Deputy Clerk of the Town of Newcastle, namely:
1. Effective 8:30 a.m. on April 5th 1988, patti L. Barrie shall commence her
employment with the Corporation of the Town of Newcastle as Deputy Clerk;
2. The duties and responsibilities of the Deputy Clerk shall be in accordance
with By-LaW 81 - 118, as may be amended from time to time;
3. Patti L. Barrie shall be remunerated at Level 10, Step 5
of the Salary Administration program of the Town of Newcastle
for non-affiliated staff, subject to any general increases in salary
approved by Council;
4. That Patti L. Barrie shall be entitled to all other employee benefits for
non-affiliated staff as may be determined from time to time.
5. That the employment of Patti L. Barrie shall be subject to a 60 working
day probationary period at the expiry of which her performance shall be
evaluated by the Chief Administrative Officer in conjunction with the Clerk.
6. That Patti L. Barrie's vacation entitlement will consist of an equivalent
of ten working days in 1988 following the successful completion of the
probationary period.
