THE CORPORATION OF THE Tam OF NEWCASTLE
BY-LAW NUMBER 88- 149
being a By-law to establish the scale of development charges for the Town
of Newcastle.
WHEREAS the COuncil of the Corporation of the Town of Newcastle has
undertaken a comprehensive review of its development charge policies:
AND WHEREAS as a result of such review the COuncil of the COrporation of
the Town of Newcastle deems it advisable to establish its schedule of
development charges.
NOW THEREFORE, the Council of the Corporation of the Town of Newcastle
enacts as follows:
1. By-laws 76-58, 83-22, 83-47, 83-48, 83-156, 87-68 and 88-34 and all
amendments thereto are hereby repealed.
2. The following development charge levies shall be payable to the
Town of Newcastle for all residential development or redevelopment through
Plans of Subdivision and Condominium, Consent and Rezoning:

Courtice, Bowmanville
& Newcastle Village
Urban Areas
Remaining Areas
Single detached, linked
semi-detached
Townhouses

3. All development charge levy collected pursuant to the provisions of
this By-law shall be paid into the reserve funds in accordance with the
fOllowing proportionment:
Community Services 38.3 %
Public Works 45.5 %
Civic Administration & Museum 5.6 %
Fire Protection 6.0 %
Libraries 4.6 %

4. This by-law shall take effect on the date of passing hereof.
