THE CORPORATION OF THE TOWN OF NEWCASTLE
BY-LAW NUMBER 87- 63
being a By-law to repeal By-law No. 81-30 of the Corporation of the Town
of Newcastle being a by-law establishing a pOlicy in respect of Generalized
Fire Protection Standards for Estate Lot and Rural Residential Developments.
WHEREAS the Council of the Town of Newcastle did adopt a policy in
respect of Rural Fire Protection Standards.
AND WHEREAS said policy was implemented by By-law 81-30 of the
Corporation of the Town of Newcastle.
AND WHEREAS said policy required the installation of water reservoirs for
fire fighting purposes.
AND WHEREAS the Council of the Corporation of the Town of Newcastle has
considered the appropriateness of such installations and determined to
require cash contributions for rural fire fighting equipment and services
in lieu of such reservoirs.
AND WHEREAS the Council of the Corporation of the Town of Newcastle has
amended its Development Charge POlicy to reflect such contributions.
NOW THEREFORE the Council of the Corporation of the Town of Newcastle
hereby enacts as follows:
1. That By-law 81-30 of the Corporation of the Town of Newcastle be
repealed.
2. This By-law shall take effect on the date of passing hereof.
