BY -LAW 87- 204
being a by-law to amend By-law 87-131 entitled
"a by-law to prohibit noises likely to disturb
the inhabitants of the Town of Newcastlell
(Grant of exemption to Licenced Kennels and
Establishing Curfew and Non-Curfew Hours)
THE COUNCIL OF THE COPORATION OF THE TOWN OF NEWCASTLE HEREBY ENACTS
AS FOLLOWS:
1. THAT Section 4 of By-law 87-131 is hereby amended by the addition
of Subsection (m) which reads as follows:

2. THAT the exemption granted to the operators of licenced kennels by
the';Council of the Town of Newcastle shall be subject to the following
conditions:
(c) Evenings - Sunday to Friday inclusive, there shall be a
curfew commencing at 11 o'clock P.M. and such curfew shall
continue until 7 o'clock A.M. of the following day; Saturday
the curfew shall commence at 11 o'clock P.M. and shall
continue until 8 o'clock A.M. Sunday Morning.
During the periods identified as the curfew hours, any
kennel noise, more particularly the barking of dogs, which
carries beyond the boundary of the property upon which the
licenced kennel is situate, shall be deemed to be a
contravention of By-law 87-131.
(b) THAT during non-curfew hours, that is from 7 o'clock A.M.
to 11 o'clock P.M., Monday to Saturday inclusive, and
from 8 o'clock A.M. to 11 o'clock P.M. Sunday, continuous
barking for a period in excess of 1 hour at any time shall
be deemed to be a contravention of By-law 87-131.
By-law read a first and second time this 14th day of December 1987
By-law read a third time and finally passed this 14th day of December 1987
