THE CORPORATION OF THE TOWN OF NEWCASTLE
BY-LAW NUMBER 86- 65
being a By-law to appoint a Property Standards Officer.
WHEREAS the Council of the Corporation of the Town of Newcastle has enacted
By-law No. 82-63, as amended, entitled lIa By-law to prescribe standards for
the mai ntenance and occupancy of property with in the Town of Newcastl ell
pursuant to the provisions of the Planning Act.
AND WHEREAS Section 4.1 of By-law No. 82-63 requires that the Town of
Newcastle enact a by-law appointing a Property Standards Officer.
NOW THEREFORE the Council of the Corporation of the Town of Newcastle hereby
enacts as follows:
1. By-law No. 82-86 of the Corporation of the Town of Newcastle is hereby
repealed; and
2. The person appointed by the Council of the Corporation of the Town of
Newcastle, from time to time, as the By-law Enforcement Officer is hereby
appointed to act as the Property Standards Officer.
3. The person appointed by the Council of the Corporation of the Town of
Newcastle, from time to time, as the Chief Building Official, pursuant to the
provisions of the Ontario Building Code Act, 1974, is hereby appointed to act
as the Property Standards Officer when the office of the By-law Enforcement
Officer is unable to carry out the duties of the Property Standards Officer
through illness, absence or otherwise.
