'" REPEALED BY BY-LAW .~.~:.!9..S THE CORPORATION OF THE TOWN OF NEWCASTLE BY-LAW NUMBER 86- 145 being a By-law to adopt a policy in respect of Architectural Control for new housing developments within the urban areas of the Town of Newcastle. Whereas the Council of the Corporation of the Town of Newcastle deems it advisable to adopt a minimum standard for new housing development within the urban areas of the Town of Newcastle; The Council of the Corporation of the Town of Newcastle hereby enacts as follows: 1. THAT a policy in respect of Architectural Control be established in the Town of Newcastle and that said policy shall be as provided in Schedule "A" attached to this By-law. SCHEDULE "AII ARCHITECTURAL CONTROL URBAN AREAS OF BOWMANVILLE, COURTICE AND NEWCASTLE VILLAGE TOWN OF NEWCASTLE 1. Prior to the issuance of building permits, for new home development within the urban areas of Bowmanville, Courtice and Newcastle Village, the Director of Planning or his designate shall approve the conceptual design of such dwellings. 2. The Director of Planning shall not authorize the issuance of building permits unless the exterior construction of such dwellings is comprised of at least 40% masonry e.g. brick, stone or other earthern product, but excluding stucco and/or concrete block, with the remainder of the exterior construction being comprised of finished wood, vinyl or aluminium siding, but excluding plywood, particle board or other simil ar wood sheeti ng materi al . 3. The Town of Newcastle shall require that no more than a total of three (3) adjacent dwellings utilize the same building elevation in order to ensure a variety of building elevations.
