THE CORPORATION OF THE MUNICIPALITY OF CLARINGTON
BY-LAW 94-198
being a by-law to repeal By-law #91-202, as amended, and to appoint
a member of the council to act in the place of the head of council
for the Municipality of Clarington
WHEREAS Section 69(2) of the Municipal Act, R.S.O. 1990, c. MA5 authorizes the
council of a municipality to appoint a member of the council to act in the place of the
head of the council;
AND WHEREAS the Council of the Corporation of the Municipality of Clarington deems
it expedient to appoint a member of the council to act from time-to-time in the place and
stead of the head of council when the head of council is absent from the Municipality
or absent through illness or her office is vacant and, while so acting, such member has
and may exercise all the rights, powers and authority of the head of council;
NOW THEREFORE THE COUNCIL OF THE CORPORATION OF THE MUNICIPALITY OF
CLARINGTON HEREBY ENACTS AS FOLLOWS:
1. THAT each member of council serve in alphabetical order for a two-month period
as follows:

2. THAT By-law 91-202, as amended, is hereby repealed.
By-law read a first and second time this 5th day of December 1994.
By-law read a third time and finally passed this 5th day of December 1994.
