BY-LAW 94- 140
Being a By-law authorizing the Mayor and Clerk
to execute the necessary documents to acquire
a road widening from John Meachin
THE CORPORATION OF THE MUNICIPALITY OF CLARINGTON HEREBY ENACTS AS
FOLLOWS:
1. THAT the Mayor and the Clerk are hereby authorized to execute,
on behalf of The Corporation of the Municipality of
Clarington, and seal with the Corporate Seal, the necessary
documents to acquire a road widening from Mr. John Meachin.
BY-LAW read a first and second time this 12th day of September,
1994.
BY-LAW read a third time and finally passed this 12th day of
September, 1994.

Please find enclosed the duplicate registered copy of transfer 0452255 registered May 26,
1995 being a transfer in favour of Municipality of Part of Lot 14, Concession 1, Geographic
Township of Darlington designated as Part 1 on Plan 40R-15782. Prior to registration we
subsearched title only to confirm that John Hubert Meachin was the registered owner. This
search confirmed a prior subsearch which revealed that John Hubert Meachin was the
registered owner together with Vivienne Gertrude Meachin. Also registered on title was
a deposit confirming the death of Vivienne Gertrude Meachin. By operation of law, the
surviving joint tenant John Hubert Meachin became the sole owner of the property. Also
prior to registration of the transfer we conducted a search of executions to satisfy ourselves
that there are no outstanding judgments against either Vivienne Gertrude Meachin or John
Hubert Meachin.

2. The other grantee, VIVIENNE GERTRUDE MEACHIN, was my wife,
and she died on or about the 19th day of July, 1993. We held the
said lands as joint tenants and the joint tenancy has not been
severed. I am therefore, the owner of the said lands by right of
survivorship.
3. Attached hereto is the Proof of Death Certificate.
4. All the debts of the estate have been paid or satisfled.

registered the 1st day of August, 1972.
AND WHEREAS the said Vivienne Gertrude Meachin died on or about
the the 19th day of July, 1993 without severlng the joint
tenancy, whereon the said John Hubert Meachin became the sole
owner of the property by right of survivorship;
AND WHEREAS the said John Hubert Meachin and Vivienne Gertrude
Meachin were spouses of one another at the date of her death, and
were each of the full age of eighteen years, and neither of them
had any other spouses;
