THE CORPORATION OF THE TOWN OF NEWCASTLE
BY-LAW 85-91
being a by-law to provide for an annual allowance
to the Mayor and Members of Council
PURSUANT to the Municipal Act, R.S.D. 1980, Chapter 302, Section 238(1),
the Council of the Corporation of the Town of Newcastle hereby enacts
as follows:
1. THAT effective January 1st 1985, the Mayor be paid an annual
allowance of twenty-two thousand, nine hundred and thirty-two
dollars ($22,932); and
2. THAT effective January 1st 1985, Members of Council be paid an
annual allowance of nine thousand, eight hundred and twenty-eight
($9,828); and
3. THAT such(:aUowance sha[II bel)pa~dbij,;:weekly and in i.the event of the
death of a()Member, or upon his/her 'beasing':to be a 'Member 'For any
reason before the expiration of his/her term of office, the
amount shall be in proportion to the period of his/her service
during such term.
4. THAT By-law 81-85 of the Town of Newcastle is hereby repealed.
By-law read a first and second time this 8th day of July 1985
By-law read a third time and finally passed this 8th day of July 1985.
